10,000 new Home Care Packages rolled out
The federal government flagged 10,000 new home care packages in December 2018 which are rolled out from earlier this year. Along with this $553 million aged care funding, a $662 million aged care funding package (including residential care) was released early this month. With this high amount of aged care funding, it is a golden opportunity to apply for a Home Care Package if you don’t already have one.
Am I eligible?
The first funding of $553 million with 10,000 new packages are divided into 5000 packages each for level three and level four, representing $50,000 per person. These packages will be allocated on priority basis by the end of JUNE this year. Dementia Australia has also welcomed the rollout and believes that it would help more people living with dementia to have choices for their residence at their own homes.
The second funding of $662 million will help address high demand of Home Care Packages. Book a time with one of our care managers to know how to apply for Home Care Package and how to use HCP Services from SAI Home and Community Care.
