What is NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme otherwise (NDIS) is the largest Australian Government health initiative to be introduced since Medicare. It is overseen by a Government entity known as the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).  The similarity in names causes some confusion but at the end of the day it is the job of the NDIA to implement the NDIS.

The aim of the NDIS is to provide people living with disability who are under the age of 65 with the supports they need to lead a life that is as full and independent as possible. The legislation claims that no individual can be worse off under the new initiative.

We encourage our clients to develop and maintain their independence.

The word SAI comes from the ancient language Sanskrit and means to nurture and empower. At SAI Home and Community Care we take the time to know our clients and their families, we work hard to understand their needs and take care in carefully matching the right carers with our clients to ensure that the relationship works well and is ongoing.

We are located in Frankston in an industry leading well-being centre which is the first of its kind however we service the CBD as well as Eastern and Southern regions of metropolitan Melbourne.

SAI is a Registered NDIS Provider

SAI Home and Community Care is fully registered at a state and federal level to support people living with disability. We are able to support people on ISP funding and those who have NDIS funding. Our NDIS Provider numbers is 4050007896.

We are able to provide a range of services including pre-planning where we will provide one-on-one coaching and support to help you prepare for your NDIS meeting.

Once you have your funding SAI Home and Community Care can assist you with the provision of personal carers, support workers, cleaning, respite (this has a new name under NDIS) and Support Coordination.

Our personal carers and support workers are police checked, have CPR, first aid, have completed all mandatory training and have a working with children check. They are really lovely people who want to support you and your family. Our carers can assist with tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, washing and socialisation. We can also assist with personal care tasks such as showering, dressing and toileting. We can assist with an array of Capacity Building tasks including learning to use public transport, community engagement
